Wild Wild West
Synopsis? Two government agents, James West & Artemus Gordon, meet a half-naked Selma Hyak and save the world from a demented scientist bent on the take-over of the world.
Well, a few errors and/or problems were noticed along the way - borrowed without shame from Dr. Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy Site;
- West & Gordon are flying around in the deserts of Utah in his little flying thingee during full sun with the full moon hanging over the horizon. Only problem is there can't be a full moon during the day at any time of the year in Utah... See Phil's Bad Astronomy Site for a full explanation of the phases of the moon. However, to summarize, a full moon can only be seen when the earth, US, is sorta directly between the sun and moon. If we are between them, we can't see both at the same time, now can we? A full moon, at best, would rise and set opposite the sun during sunset and sunrise respectively.
- At the end of the movie, after defeating the bad guy, they get an urgent message from President Grant to return to Washington DC immediately. They are in Utah. They hop on their horses and ride into the proverbial sunset... Only problem is DC is EAST of Utah. Sunsets are in the WEST. No matter where you are... They head off in the wrong direction!
- Aside - Several great one-liners are contained in this science-based movie.
